This year we head back west to Mangarakau for our school camp. Staying at the lodge the kids get to experience this beautiful and remote part of our country. We are again having James for Canoe Wilderness Trust running a fantastic programme in his Canadian-styled canoes. See Shaun or Steve for more details.
Room 1 are using the profits from their Twilight Fair companies to help pay for a trip to Tonga Island Marine Reserve to snorkel. See Shaun or Steve for more information.

Our annual school Cross Country is always a fun event. Using a course usually involving mud, hills, a stock ramp, kiwifruit orchard, the sinkhole and maybe even a healthy serving of cowpats. The focus is on having fun and completing the run. All parents/family members are welcome to come and watch or even take part.
Come along to the first assembly of term 2. As usual it is at 2pm in the school library. All parents and extended whanau welcome.

The staff from the various schools are receiving training in Restorative Practice which focuses on building and maintaining positive, respectful relationships across the school community and offers school staff best-practice tools and techniques to restore relationships when things go wrong. By building and maintaining positive, respectful relationships within a school, issues are more easily managed.
Restorative Practice is a process that provides schools with ways to repair harm and restore relationships. It uses the stories of those involved in an incident and the people close to it (e.g. students, staff and whanau) to:
Ø explore what has happened and who has been affected
Ø hold those who have caused harm accountable for their actions
Ø provide support to those who have been harmed, and others involved.
This will be the last day of term due to Thursday being a teacher's only day.
The last Assembly of Term 1 is going to include some plays from Room 1 as well as the usual sharing of certificates and learning.
We will be heading away to beautiful Totaranui for 4 days and 3 nights. We stay at the Doc homestead and enjoy lots of fun activities.
This is the first day back for 2017. Remember to bring your togs and a sun hat.
This will be our final assembly for the term. Parents most welcome to attend. It will include a recap of the year and a farewell to our Year 6 students.
Our Year 6 students are welcomed to GBHS with a traditional Powhiri. They will also find out their class and teacher for 2017.
Time to pack up camp, have one more kayak session before heading home.
Day Three includes the first part of our Kayaking Programme.
Plans for day 2 include a visit from the Year 3 students and on to the Closs's farm to walk to Te Hapu Bay. We look forward to investigating the natural limestone maze.
Day 1 will include travelling to camp and setting up. Weather permitting we hope to stop off at Kaihoka Lakes for a walk, explore and maybe even a swim.
We are very please to have Nancy and the other ladies back to run some more awesome craft sessions.
Held at Golden Bay High School is the annual Golden Bay Primary School Athletic Sports. It is for students 7 years or older. Parents most welcome to come along and watch. Please let Steve know if you can help out.

Gumboot song, Tihore Mai and Slice of Heaven will be among the songs the students will perform to the residents down at the hospital. Hera and the kids have worked hard on a repertoire of songs sure to entertain.
Leith is coming back to CTS to share her experiences with the Year 6's about transitioning to GBHS.

Our assemblies are a celebration of learning/achievement at CTS. Parents are always most welcome to attend. Assembly usually runs from 2pm until between 2:30-245pm. Parents attending the assembly are welcome to take home their children after this.
This assembly is going to feature an original musical performance on the Marimbas by Room One as well as certificates for Pet Day and Soccer Tournament.
